28 weeks
Getting bigger now and starting to feel pressure from my growing uterus and baby Washuk. In the morning my legs feel sore, as if I have worked out but that is not happening so it must be from the baby. Last night as I was falling asleep you had your first bout of the hiccups! People have been asking me if I have felt them yet and I keep saying no, but sure enough, last night was the first time - it felt literally like there was a mini-me inside of me having hiccups. We had our first childbirth education class with our doula, Peyton. Peyton is married to Jon Callahan a.k.a Cal who grew up with Eddie in Maine. She has three beautiful children and has been through many different types of birth - her first had multiple interventions, second was natural in a hospital and her most recent was an at-home water birth. So it will be nice to have her at my side during delivery. No major plans for us for Memorial Day - I just got back from the farmer's market and made a nice lunch of asparagus, boiled egg and fresh bread with goat cheese - baby liked it!

Sorry it's been awhile since I wrote. But utimately it is a good sign because it means that I am feeling well and busy. We are still in hot pursuit of the right house and work has been quite hectic lately, but I am sleeping well and feeling energetic. Except for today. Sort of crashed after a hectic few weeks - it was the baby telling me to slow down. I have been plagued with heartburn and it seems to get worse when I am stressed - I never thought I would be a Tums taker. Also the last couple weeks in Chicago have seen over 60 degree weather which means the trees are budding, pollen is flying and allergies are uncomfortably upon us. They seem worse than even before for me. The baby has been quite active and we still find pleasure in feeling the kicks. All in all everything is good and we are looking forward to more growth of both the baby and the belly!
